The base of this vase is round, but the rim has a triangular shape.
The body has a ‘smoky’ amber and see-through colour. Six wide white glass bands were then applied on it.
This mouth-blown glass vase was designed by Fulvio Bianconi for Venini in 1950.
It is part of a series characterised by vertical or horizontal strips of colour on transparent glass.
Different colour variations exist, but they always use the characteristic strong Venini palette of colour shades. More common pieces are the blue vase with red strips and the green vase with red strips.
“A Fasce Verticali” was displayed in various exhibitions, such as the 9Th Milan Triennale in 1951, the Nordiska Kompaniet in Stockholm in 1951 or the 26th Biennale Internazionale d’Arte of Venice.
