About "Puzzle" by Ettore Sottsass for Venini
Puzzle is a piece arising from a series of vases and centerpieces imagined by Ettore Sottsass for Venini at the end of the 2000s. The base is made of glass and has a coral colour. The upper part is a bright green glass tray, on which a shaft was glued in order to insert it on the base. The series presented vases of different colours and the pieces were interchangeable, hence the name “Puzzle”. The object is in very good condition. Please note that when drilling the hole in the base, a slight defect appeared but it is not visible and located inside the base. The base is signed “Venini 2009 Ettore Sottsass” with diamond point.
The collaboration between Ettore Sottsass and Venini began in 1988 and lasted until Sottsass’ passing. The artist designed multiple vases, including the Yemen vase, which has had a notable success and still is one of Venini’s best-seller.
