A gilded bronze box "Le cantique des colonnes"
Large iconic box composed of three compartments.
Inspired by the poem by Paul Valéry " Cantiques des colonnes"
"De nos lits de cristal
Nous fûmes éveillées,
Des griffes de métal
Nous ont appareillées.
Filles des nombres d’or,
Fortes des lois du ciel,
Sur nous tombe et s’endort
Un dieu couleur de miel.
Filles des nombres d’or,
Fortes des lois du ciel,
Sur nous tombe et s’endort
Un dieu couleur de miel.
