Created around 1945, the “Collier de chien” is executed in gilt bronze and composed of a succession of dachshunds articulated by circular links.

Each dog is modelled with an elongated body, pointed muzzle and short legs, its simplified silhouette becoming a sculptural element in its own right. Arranged one after another, the dachshunds form a continuous chain around the neck, creating a composition that is both playful and distinctly graphic.

The title itself introduces a characteristic play on words: the French expression collier de chien traditionally refers to a necklace worn closely around the neck, while Line Vautrin offers a literal and humorous interpretation of the term through a succession of dachshunds.
