Rectangular gilt-bronze box, the lid adorned with a rebus characteristic of Line Vautrin.
It can be deciphered as follows:
– the silkworm and spool for SOIS (be),
– radishes and eyes followed by ZE for RADIEUSE (radiant),
– KOM for COMME (like),
– the sun followed by two for SOLEIL DE (the sun of),
– noon on the sundial for MIDI (midday).
The rebus reveals a poetic, luminous message:
“Be radiant like the midday sun.”
Inside lined with cork.

Signed by stamping in a single line: “LINE VAUTRIN” (on the right edge of the lid).
