Murano glass vase by Flavio Poli

Artist
Flavio Poli

Sommerso glass vase – Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d’Arte, Murano, Italy, probably between 1953 and 1955.
The elongated truncated-conical form, slightly flaring towards the rim, highlights a remarkable work of chromatic superimposition. The core of the piece is composed of a deep, dense, and saturated ruby-red glass mass, within which warm amber and aquamarine blue internal layers appear to float, subtly fused into one another. This chromatic ensemble is then entirely encased in a thick layer of clear glass.
