La prière de Saint François d’Assise (The Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi), gilt bronze box by Line Vautrin.
Large gilt bronze box whose lid is engraved with a large extract from the prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi, also known as the Prayer for Peace.
The lid also features a series of doves.
The prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi is an invocation asking us to become an instrument of God’s peace, transforming hatred into love, offense into forgiveness, and discord into union. It consists of two main parts: the first, which asks us to sow love and light, and the second, which emphasizes that it is more important to give than to receive, and to forgive than to be forgiven.
Interior lined with cork.
