Sculpture of a bird in blown glass with murrine decoration, resting on hammered copper legs. Designed in 1962 by Alessandro Pianon for Vistosi, Murano (Italy).
This dark green (khaki) glass bird features a cubic-shaped body adorned with red and blue murrines, including hot-applied murrine eyes. It is listed in the Vistosi archives under reference number S191.
Part of a series of five different “species,” each bird in the collection has a unique shape, typical 1960s colors, and distinctive murrine and applied watermark decorations.
