“Pezzato” Vase, Murano glass by Fulvio Bianconi.
Pezzato vase in Murano glass, diabolo-shaped model designed by Fulvio Bianconi for the Venini glassworks.
Blown using the emblematic pezzato technique, the piece is composed of a carefully orchestrated assembly of colored glass fragments, fused hot into a transparent matrix and subsequently reworked during the blowing process. This method gives the vase a vibrant, almost architectural structure, in which the chromatic planes appear suspended within the material.
The slender silhouette, narrowed at its center and flaring toward the extremities, evokes a diabolo form with a perfectly mastered sense of balance. The so-called “Paris” color variant stands out for its bold composition, combining deep reds, intense blues, emerald greens, and opaline accents, creating a dynamic interplay of luminous contrasts and layered transparencies. The smooth, glossy surface enhances the depth of the colors and reveals, depending on the incidence of light, an ever-renewed reading of the composition.
