“Fiji”, Murano Glass vase by Fulvio Bianconi, Venini, Italy.
Cylindrical blown Murano glass vase with thick cased walls, distinguished by a subtly faceted rim forming a diamond-shaped opening when viewed from above. The chromatic composition combines superimposed layers of deep cobalt blue, bright turquoise and acid yellow, the whole fully encased within a mass of clear crystal.
The geometric rigor of the form, enhanced by the diamond-shaped mouth and the optical depth created by the glass thickness, gives the piece a contemporary sculptural presence, representative of Fulvio Bianconi’s late research for Venini.
