Milleocchi by Vinicio Vianello

Artist
Vinicio Vianello

“Milleocchi” by Vinicio Vianello, set of Three Blown Glass Vases – S.A.L.I.R. Murano Italy.
A rare set of three blown glass vases designed by Vinicio Vianello for S.A.L.I.R. (Studio Ars et Labor Industrie Riunite). The Milleocchi (“A Thousand Eyes”) series takes its name from the numerous polished lens-cut motifs that animate the surface of the glass, capturing and reflecting light with remarkable intensity.
Executed in thick, iridescent glass in shades of blue, clear crystal and pink, these vases perfectly illustrate Vianello’s exploration of light, transparency and optical effects, characteristic of his Spatialist approach. Their refined, minimalist forms rank among the most iconic creations produced by S.A.L.I.R. during the 1950s.
This set is particularly significant, as complete groups of the three graduated sizes are considerably rarer than individual examples, creating a striking sculptural ensemble that fully enhances the optical effects envisioned by Vianello.
