About this metal and leather coat rack by Jacques Adnet
Large coat rack, often called in French language "perroquet", in metal covered with fawn-colored synthetic leather, the stitching entirely made by hand in saddle stitch.
The foot consists of a circular base surmounted by a cross-shaped spacer. The spacer receives the central shaft punctuated in six different parts with relief inspired by faux bamboo. The end of the central shaft decorated with a gilded bronze element.
At the level of the fifth element of the central shaft is placed a rotating circle receiving six large hooks with wide bottom hook and upper hook.
The object, manufactured around 1960, is in very good condition.
We were able to acquire this coat rack in the reserve of an Adnet furniture distributor, it has never been used, just has a slight patina due to the passage of time.
Jacques Adnet was born in 1900 in France.
A graduate of the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he took over the management of the "Compagnie des Arts Français" in 1928 and succeeded in modernizing the house.
He imagines many pieces of furniture and accessories: coat racks, chairs, desks, etc.
Adnet is also particularly known for his leather-covered metal creations adorned with saddle stitch seams.
His designs are incredibly modern and remain relevant over the years. They are synonymous with comfort and elegance.
